Transfer Domain From Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun) To GoDaddy
It is a two-stepped process basically. First, you have to retrieve the authorization code from your current registrar or Alibaba Cloud in this case. Then you have to use it on the site where you want to transfer your domain or GoDaddy here.
So, without further ado, let’s get started!
Retrieve Authorization Code From Alibaba Cloud
Step #1. Log in to your Alibaba Cloud Domains console.
Step #2. Locate the domains to transfer and click Manage.
Step #3. Now, on the Basic Information page, click Domain Transfer-Out from the left-side navigation pane.
Step #4. From this point onwards, there’s a five-step process on this page. First is to verify your email so just do it.
Step #5. Once your email is verified, the domain name transfer code will be sent to your verified email. Check the spam folder if the code is not received.
Now that you have received the domain transfer code, it is time to initiate the transfer on GoDaddy’s end.
Transfer Domain To GoDaddy
Step #1. Log in to your GoDaddy account and open the Domains Transfer page.
Step #2. Enter the domain name you want to transfer to GoDaddy in the text box and click Search.
Step #3. After looking for your domain, it will ask for the Authorization Code. Simply paste the Domain Name Transfer code that you received from Alibaba Cloud by email.
Step #4. After verifying your authorization code, it will redirect you to the payments page. Enter your payment details to initiate the transfer.
Step #5. Once you have made the payment, click on your name on the top right corner of the screen and click on Visit My Account.
Step #6. Then click on Manage All in the Domains section.
Step #7. Now on this page click on Domains on the top left corner and in the menu, click on Transfers-In.
You should see your domain on this page with pending transfer-in status.
At this point, you don’t need to do anything. Just wait for 5-7 days for the transfer to complete.
