8 Undeniable Reasons Why You Should Have a Blogger (BlogSpot) Blog

Majority of us have at least one blog on Blogger. Even I’ve seen people making a living online through Google’s hosted blogging platform.

Blogger or BlogSpot was, is, and will always be free (possibly). That makes it an ideal platform for anybody who is trying to get familiar with the world of blogging and what it takes to run a successful blog.

Reasons To Have A BlogSpot Blog

Blogger comes with free blog hosting so you don’t need to spend even a single penny on web servers. There are lots of other reasons why everyone should have a Blogger blog. So, without further ado, let’s get started!

#1. Learn The Concepts of Blogging

The world of blogging is immense and requires a lot of hard work and patience. You can’t expect to become an internet sensation overnight. You need to learn how to be consistent, how to write engaging content, how to attract the audience etc.

Blogger is the undoubted choice to make yourself familiar with all the things related to blogging. With a BlogSpot blog, you really don’t need to worry about any technical aspects of your blog. You don’t even need to spend any money to have a blog on BlogSpot.com

So, Blogger acts as the best beginner-friendly blogging platform.

#2. Enhance Your Web Designing Skills

A blog or website’s design is a major role player in its success. There was a time when Blogger used to force things on you. With time, Google has made its blogging platform more and more flexible and customizable.

Blogger is the place to polish your designing skills. BlogSpot provides you with tons of customization options to change the look and feel of your blog entirely. That makes it an ideal spot to implement your designs, ideas, and improve the overall user experience.

So, Blogger acts as the best platform to learn web designing.

#3. Learn To Manage DNS Settings

A domain name is always required no matter which platform you are using for your blog. Though Blogger offers you a free subdomain, you’ll always need a domain in future for the purpose of expansion.

DNS Management

That’s why learning about DNS settings and how to manage DNS records is a must thing to learn. Blogger has allowed custom domain names for quite some time.

That makes it easy for you to learn how to add a custom domain to BlogSpot. It also provides you a good opportunity to learn what it takes to point your custom domain to external platforms.

So, Blogger helps you to learn how to manage DNS (Domain Name System) of a domain.

#4. Make Money From Blogging

Making money online by having a blog is not a new concept. A Blogger blog can help you to make some extra income out of your efforts. There are multiple ways of making money online including display ads like Google AdSense, affiliate marketing, sponsorship etc.

A Blogger blog can help you to understand the basics of online survival. The more your blog grows, the more opportunities you gain to monetize your blog and making some decent income online.

So, Blogger acts as the best platform to learn about making money online.

#5. Sharpen Your Coding Skills

Learning any coding or scripting language can cost you some money. And always remember that it’s not what you learn, your practice is what that makes you master any skill. Same goes for any programming language.

Improve Coding Skills

Blogger’s backend is built with Python that you can’t access. The only accessible coding part you get with Blogger is its template which is a mixture of:

  • XML – Used for templating format language
  • HTML, CSS, and Javascript – Frontend page delivery

You can enhance your basic web development skills by playing with the codes of your blogger blog.

So, Blogger acts as the best platform to learn XML, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

#6. No Resource Limitations

Blogger has no usage restrictions. That means you don’t have to worry about server usage and its maintenance. You can post an unlimited number of posts, pictures, and videos. There is even no restriction on the traffic you get.

Unlimited Resources

This makes Blogger an ideal platform for event blogging sites where traffic on the site can be huge at any moment of time.

So, Blogger is the best blogging platform with no usage restrictions.

#7. Migration Is Possible

We can never settle for anything and always look for what’s best for us. Same goes for your blogging platform. You never know when you feel the need to upgrade your blog.

Blogger is meant for blogging only. If you want to upgrade your site into a fully functional CMS (content management system) then you’ll need to migrate it to a different platform. It’s quite easy to migrate your BlogSpot blog to other blogging platforms like WordPress and Tumblr.

So, Blogger is a migration friendly blogging platform.

#8. It’s Always Free!

Blogger or BlogSpot is Google’s blogging platform that is 100% FREE! There are no hidden charges or subscriptions to gain full access to the platform. This is the one thing that separates it from other hosted blogging platforms like WordPress.com

Free Of Cost

A domain name is paid and has always been. Other than that, if you are looking for a premium template for your BlogSpot blog then you’ll have to pay for it to the developer. Google doesn’t charge you anything to have a blog no matter how huge it becomes.

So, Blogger is the best free blogging platform.

Final Words

Blogging is a never-ending journey and choosing the best platform for your blog is an essential step of it. That doesn’t mean you need to go for the things that are paid right from the start.

Everything depends on your needs. I mentioned some crucial points that make Blogger an ideal choice as a blogging platform. Now it’s on you to decide whether it meets your requirements or not.

As from my experience, I think blogger’s blogspot is best for a new blogger. Because a new blogger needs an easy to set platform for almost free.
    So Blogger is best.
By the way, it is a nice article by you.
